Whew, that was close. The Main Library’s financial woes were so far-reaching and hard-hitting that, for a while, it looked as if the institution’s long-running film series, now held at ImaginOn, would fall under the axe. Luckily, a reprieve was granted, meaning that Charlotte film fans can continue to enjoy classic movies such as those included in this roster. Actually, beginning last summer, there were three separate showcases dedicated to the Master, but the middle one, running throughout October-November 2009, was the favorite, since it contained CL Film Editor Matt Brunson's two Hitchcock faves (Psycho and Notorious) as well as five other classics.
