On a personal note, I want to acknowledge the passing of a friend. He was someone who always listened, offered silent support, and heard all my work tales from the various newsrooms I worked in from Dayton to Cincinnati, and finally, here in Charlotte. In fact, I actually met him in a newsroom. He was visiting my news department in Dayton as a part of the noon news' weekly "Adopt-a Pet" segment. When I went into my office, he was sitting in my chair, seemingly looking at the TV monitors, and patiently waiting. For me, I thought. I took this black cat home, changed his name from "Dion" to Rhody, and he became a part of our family for the next 15 years, until he passed away earlier this week.
Stay tuned.
