Now open: Granny Lucy's To Go Restaurant

Owner Andrew King has opened Granny Lucy’s To Go Restaurant, 5247 Central Ave. (an out parcel at Eastland Mall, near Surplus Warehouse), 704-531-9440. Hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Daily specials include meatloaf, garlic baked chicken with dressing and gravy, and chicken pot pie ($6.25 - $6.95); burgers; grilled pimiento cheese; and fried chicken. Desserts vary daily: coconut cake with seven minute frosting, peach cobbler, vanilla pound-cake with lemon icing, and fig cake with buttermilk glaze. Granny Lucy’s is part of High Cotton catering which originally opened in Dilworth, but moved to Eastland Mall in 2008.
