Upcoming: Chef Francis Mallmann, Almost-Summer Extravaganza

• On Saturday, June 6 at 3 p.m. Carpe Diem Restaurant will host Chef Francis Mallmann, who will demonstrate some of the techniques used in his new cookbook Seven Fires: Grilling the Argentine Way in their parking lot. Grateful Growers Farms will sell their local grown organic pork products at the event. A book signing will follow. 1535 Elizabeth Ave.

The Charlotte Tailgate Farmers Market, 100 West Park Ave., is hosting “Almost-Summer Extravaganza” on Saturday, June 6 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Music is by Mark Herbert, a Charlotte native based in Wilmington, N.C., who will perform at 10 a.m. Chef Mark Hibbs of the Ratcliffe on the Green will give a cooking demonstration at 11 a.m.
