A Blue dessert reception for a good cause

Posted By on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 12:08 PM

I absolutely love dessert. This week, I've indulged in a flourless chocolate cake, two Napoleons from Amelie's French Bakery, and two kinds of cupcakes from Soul Gastrolounge.

Hey, it was my birthday. No judging!

But tomorrow evening, Sept. 29, you're invited to a dessert reception, hosted at Blue Restaurant, for a good cause.

Your $10 donation at the door goes to benefit My Sister's House, a Friendship Community Development Corporation program. They have assisted over 150 women in securing safe affordable housing in the area since 2007.

With your donation, you' ll get two beverage tickets and tastings of a number of desserts, including ricotta cheesecake, pecan pie, almond cake, chocolate truffles, pumpkin cheesecake, and more. All to the lovely backdrop of cool jazz.

My mouth just started watering.

The event, going from 7 p.m.-10 p.m., is sponsored by The Law Office of Harold Cogdell, The Sol Kitchen and RoundTable Ent., Inc. Blue Restaurant is located at 206 N. College St.
