There is something special about being able to say that something you own is handmade. It instantly possesses a certain quality unattainable by something you just pick up at the local mall, and it certainly is quite unique. It is no surprise that there seems to be a large surge of jewelry artists popping up everywhere, and Charlotte surely has no shortage.
Ginger Wagner knew she was destined for a career in creativity, but who knew that she’d have so many specialties to pick from? From macramé and candle-making, to writing and desktop publishing, and even to music, Wagner had her fingers in everything. She had always been compelled to be creative in some form or other, so when she became a sales associate in an upscale jewelry store, her heart lit up at the possibility of picking up yet another craft. Watching the jewelers as they worked, she quickly picked up on tricks of the trade. With her curiosity sparked, all she needed was the inspiration and motivation to get started. “One day I noticed a necklace my sister was wearing which consisted of wire wrapped briolettes on chain,” Wagner recalls. That was the moment she knew that this was her next creative venture.

The Clothier's Corner Ladies: Respectful before sexy

I know I will probably step on some toes with this article, but it’s not my job to be a cheerleader. My job is to provide the information that will allow you to maximize your personal and professional life. So, at times I have to call some people to the carpet. Today, it’s the ladies.
It’s time to stop dressing like you’re going to the club when you go to work. What looks cute at The Epicentre may not be appropriate for Bank of America. I know we all want to feel comfortable when we are at work. However, there is a thick line between comfort and conspicuous.
When you are at work, you should look professional. Don’t you want to be treated as an equal? Professionals dress with the intention of displaying power, confidence, strength and dependability. Their goal is to display to their clients that they have the ability to perform their needed task. Ninety percent of professional women do that. To the other 10 percent of you who are upset, tough! I just call it like I see it.
I know some of you are going to say, “Sex sells.” I agree — in advertising. If you are trying to look good, look professional. Most men love looking at beautiful, strong, confident women. They respect them. They appreciate them. Most importantly, they do business with them. If you are attractive, trust me, we know it.

News New stores opening up at Concord Mills

If you've been looking for a Coach Factory store or a Lego store, soon all you've have to do is shoot up 85N to Concord Mills.
The 4,520 square-feet Lego store will open at the end of July across from the Nike Factory store. It will include a Lego Education Center, which will offer classes in how to become better Lego builders.The 5,001 square-feet Coach Factory store will open in early fall near the Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th.
