Beyond The Runway Series Continues With Retail Focus

Capitol owner Laura Vinroot Poole to share insight on Saturday, Feb. 26

CHARLOTTE -- Owning a boutique is the dream of many aspiring to a life in fashion. Attending runway shows, sharing the best in apparel and accessories with loyal customers, the list of perceived perks goes on and on. But in reality, retail is hard, beautiful and fabulous all at once.

How can you navigate the industry successfully? Education and experience are key. Enter Beyond The Runway, a series of monthly topical discussions featuring people with real industry experience.

Created and moderated by Style Sanctum founder Nicole Sinclair, the series which began in January continues Saturday, Feb. 26 with guest speaker Laura Vinroot Poole, owner of Capitol and Poole Shop. Vinroot Poole, who has been featured in Vogue, Garden & Gun and T: The New York Times Style Magazine, has worked tirelessly to raise the fashion profile of Charlotte and has done so with great success. Because of Vinroot Poole's exceptional eye for up-and-coming designers, Capitol is a destination for serious shoppers from around the world.

The Beyond the Runway series, targeting teens and adults interested in fashion, continues March 19 and April 16 (topics and guest speakers to be announced closer to event dates).

The discussions will be 11:30am-1pm monthly at the Style Sanctum studio, 13024 Eastfield Road, Charlotte, and feature a catered lunch and gift bag for attendees. Tickets are $10 (free for current Style Sanctum students) per person and must be purchased online at www.stylesanctum.com.
