Celebrating fashion at Macy's Father's Day event

Whenever I watch my boyfriend get dressed, whether for work or for a date with me, I'm struck with how men are just as concerned with their looks as women are. In fact, last weekend when we had plans to go see The Hangover 2, he changed his outfit twice because he wanted to make sure he gave off the "right vibe" on our date. What that means, I'll never really know.

But that just goes to show you how important fashion is. Men and women alike are first perceived by their looks, and wearing an outfit that flatters definitely builds confidence.

Considering the fact that so many fashion events in Charlotte are for the ladies, here's something to mix things up for you, fellas. And with Father's Day coming up soon (June 19, people!), the timing is perfect.

On Saturday, June 4, Macy's at Northlake is celebrating dads with a spring 2011 men's fashion show, hosted by our very own T. Strong. In addition to the handsome looks guaranteed to be showcased on the runway, men can consult with the fashion experts of My 1st Suit — a "non-profit organization founded to help young men in need build character and confidence through special programming and the donation of their first suit" — and DW Designs.

And ladies, if you find something for the dad in your life at Macy's and spend more than $50, you'll receive as a free gift a Macy's men's watch (while supplies last).

WHERE: Macy’s at Northlake Mall : Second Level – Men’s Department. 6845 Northlake Mall Drive.

WHEN: Saturday, June 4. 2 p.m.
