It's environmental day at the Clog. First, a little-noted action by the Obama administration will have very far-reaching consequences; in the long run, at least as far-reaching as the endless string of SuperColossal Bailouts. With one simple act the Environmental Protection Agency is set to declare that greenhouse gases are dangerous pollutants the Obama team will completely change the way the United States deals with global warming. It means, for one, that spewing pollutants into the air will become a lot more costly to businesses and utilities. The result, relying on the free market forces conservatives love to pay lip service to, will be to nudge energy consumption toward alternative, non-polluting sources. That's part of the nuts and bolts of how the green revolution will work. It's getting ready to start.
