Finally saw Werner Herzog's documentary Encounters at the End of the World last week. The music score alone is amazing and worth checking the film out for. The movie is really an adventurer's dream. The story hangs on the strangely interesting characters who live and work at the McMurdo Station in Antarctica, a place where penguins go crazy and men go to find their sanity... or at least to get away from modern life's insanity.

My favorite character was the guy who always has his bag packed with everything he needs to face adventure. The rucksack, which he keeps at or under 20 kilos, holds even an inflatable raft and oars in it. Made me think how little we really need to escape and how few of us have the guts to do it.
