Tonight on Frontline: BofA

Posted By on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 3:07 PM

Frontline. Wow. This should be good.

9-10 p.m. today, WUNG (UNC-TV, Channel 58), WNSC (SC ETV, Channel 30)

“Frontline,” the ever-excellent investigative series on PBS, uses banking to teach us all a life lesson: Always take the car to the mechanic before you buy it.

In “Breaking the Bank,” the car was Merrill Lynch and the buyer was Ken Lewis.

Tonight's episode chronicles the meltdown that seized the nation's financial industry last year and focuses on how Charlotte-based Bank of America was at first an eager suitor, then an unwilling partner in the takeover of the giant investment firm.
