Though the Q.C. and surrounding area recently had an encounter with some tornado activity, local N.C. author Randi Davenport's new book, The Boy Who Loved Tornadoes, isn't about the weather, but rather it funnels into the territory of mental illness. The book, a memoir based on Davenport's own experiences with her mentally ill son, is emotional and real, capturing the destructive course disease can have on a family. Davenport will be discussing and signing copies of the book at Park Road Books today.
