Fighting 'ignorant fascist bastards' with humor

Posted By on Mon, Aug 16, 2010 at 1:18 PM

A few years ago, Garrison Keillor was asked why he wasn’t more political on his radio show, Prairie Home Companion, especially since he’s never been shy about his liberal Democrat roots. His answer was that he wanted the show to be entertaining “to people of any political stripe, my people and also ignorant fascist bastards.” Some IFB’s didn’t take his comment well, but most people anywhere to the left of Newt Gingrich loved it.

In that spirit, here’s something to start off your week that’s entertaining, funny and deals creatively with a particular subgroup of IFB’s. Last week we featured a counter-protester with a biting, funny sign at an anti-gay marriage protest. What follows is a video compilation of similar, humorous counter-signs, as well as funny  pro-same sex marriage signs. Thanks for the idea to Pam’s House Blend, one of the top LGBT blogs. Enjoy the video.
