Florida couple 'forecloses' on Bank of America branch

Posted By on Tue, Jun 7, 2011 at 11:55 AM

Here’s a great story of poetic justice at the expense of an arrogant, bullying bank — that would be our own lil’ Bank of America — in Florida. The short version is that BofA, for some reason, tried to foreclose on a Florida couple’s home *even though the couple had paid cash for the home and didn’t owe Bank of America a penny. They took BofA to court and won, but the bank repeatedly refused to pay the couple’s legal bills, as it was ordered to do by a judge. So here’s what the couple did: They sent their attorney, along with two sheriff’s deputies and some moving trucks, to foreclose on the local branch of Bank of America. "I'm leaving the building with either cash, a check or a whole lot of furniture," the couple’s attorney said. The “shaken” bank manager handed over a check and apologized for any “miscommunication.” Read the whole story here. It’ll warm the cockles of your justice-loving heart.
