Film screening: Warrior Champions: From Baghdad to Beijing

Posted By on Tue, Nov 1, 2011 at 12:20 PM

A triumph of the human physique is synonymous with a triumph of the human spirit. The stories of those who push their bodies to beat the odds have touched the hearts of strangers across all reaches of the globe, serving as much-needed inspiration in the face of a mishmash of challenging circumstances. Acclaimed documentary filmmakers the Renaud Brothers have produced Warrior Champions: From Baghdad to Beijing, offering a powerful look into the lives of four American soldiers who were disabled due to combat injuries. With the help of prosthetics, they went on to compete in Beijing's Paralympic Games. The award-winning film will be screened at 6 p.m. tonight, at UNC Charlotte's Student Union Theater. The event, free and open to the public, will be followed by a Q&A session with one of the cast members, as well as a catered reception. You can find more information on the film at www.warriorchampions.com.
