Jason Eric Tate, 39, was arrested early Wednesday when he tried to steal a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria Patrol car.

According to theCharlotte Observer, police responded to a call in the parking lot of Leather and Lace, an adult fabric store in Gastonia, when officers reported Tate tried to make off with the vehicle. He's being charged with felony breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, resisting a public officer and felony attempted larceny.

Here's hoping his "friends" can help him pay the $40,000 bond.
