Seth Avett makes the (tabloid) headlines

Posted By on Tue, Jun 11, 2013 at 3:21 PM

Along with fortune and fame come paparazzi and tabloid headlines, even if you're the Avett Brothers from Concord, N.C. Around midnight on June 10, Seth Avett posted the following message on the Avett Brothers website:

To all the wonderful Avett Brothers fans...

Over the years, it has been my honor and privilege to share, through so many amazing experiences, a connection with you all that is very special to me. It is in the nature of this incredible exchange that I feel it appropriate to share a piece of personal news.

My wife and I have decided to end our marriage. We have been separated for some time. As I'm sure you will understand, this is a very difficult and painful time for us and our families. I want to wholeheartedly thank you for respecting our privacy in this matter and I ask sincerely for your prayers, support and understanding.

Much love and gratitude...
Seth Avett

At 8 a.m. this morning, Radar Online posted the following story: Dexter Star Jennifer Carpenter Dating Married Folk Singer Seth Avett - 'She Destroyed His Marriage,' Says Source

Jennifer Carpenter stars on the TV show Dexter and was married to her costar Michael C. Hall until December of 2010. There have been rumors swirling about the relationship for months - blog commentary on Avetts and Dexter fan sites have been suggesting at the pair.

It's Seth's private life, so we won't speculate or comment other than to say - these aren't the kinds of headlines music fans are hoping for.
