12TH ANNUAL PLAZA MIDWOOD PIG PICKIN'
It didn't happened last year, thanks to construction in the area, but the annual Plaza Midwood Pig Pickin' is back this year with the same great live music, barbecue sandwiches and good times people have come to expect. This all-day mini-festival takes place on Gordon Street between the Diamond and Snug Harbor. Veteran rockabilly band the Belmont Playboys, the David Childers-fronted Overmountain Men, the garage rock of Modern Primitives and Temperance League and the no bullshit rock of The Loudermilks will keep the music going while the night is capped off with a fireworks display. If you haven't been, what are you waiting for? July 4, 4 p.m. Gordon Street.
