Comic Afterthoughts The Pull List (9/11/13): East of West gets collected

As this season's mainstream events move forward, let's not forget those newer, non-superhero books that continue to shine. East of West is none of those books, and since today's marks the release of its first trade paperback, it seems appropriate to highlight the series.
Jonathan Hickman is a busy man. The scribe, currently penning Marvel's Infinity event and probably about seven more series in the works, hit fans with this western-tinged, futuristic tale of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in March. Five issues in, the series is marked by a nonlinear, but assuredly precise narrative, rendered beautifully by artist Nick Dragotta. Things have only gotten more complicated - and also more biblical.
The book is a former Title You Can't Miss, and with this trade, should be at the top of your Pull List for graphic novels today. If you're sticking with single issues and still want a Hickman fix, check out the latest issue of Manhattan Projects, the sci-fi, alt-history take on what the government was really working on during the second World War.
