Friday the 13th: why do we fear it, and how unlucky is it really?

Per the Charlotte Observer, Mecklenburg County Commissioner Pat Cotham is quietly gathering support to rename the county's courthouse after the late civil rights lawyer Julius Chambers.

A little band you might have heard of called the Avett Brothers just announced they're playing a New Year's Eve concert in Charlotte.

Keep Colorado in your thoughts as it battles torrential flooding.

If you try to cross the Atlantic Ocean with helium balloons, this might happen. Also, Hello Kitty beer.
