The Boulevard at South End is about to blow up with fame: Two filmmakers tasked by Capital One to gather the stories of small businesses all over the country stopped in Charlotte this week to interview the owners of The Boulevard. The video will be posted on IAmSmallBusinessProud.com.
State regulators and Duke Energy say to move 100 million tons of coal ash could cost almost $10 million. "Paul Newton, Duke's North Carolina president of operations, told lawmakers that 20-foot trucks, leaving the site every three minutes, working 12 hours a day, could not quickly remove it. 'The Dan River site would take about two years to be excavated and remove - and that is our smallest site,' Newton said. 'At our Marshall plant near Charlotte, at that pace, excavation would take nearly 30 years.'"
The FDA has proposed regulations on those plastic or metal tubes called e-cigs that no one really knows anything about. The federal government not only wants to ban the sale to minors - makes sense - but it also wants to reserve the right to create new rules on the products later.
With Original Sin #0, we're given the precursor to Marvel's latest event, which officially starts in May. So what do we know about it so far?
Well, Uatu will die. That's the Uatu, as in The Watcher (a position held throughout the universe by big, bald creatures that monitor the activities of beings in their assigned galaxies). That's the event that kicks off this storyline, with his missing eyes being the main detail gleaned from publicity images.
Uatu sees all and knows all, so if someone has killed him (and presumably taken his secrets), they know things about Earth's Mightiest Heroes that no one else could know. That's where the term "Original Sin" comes in, as each of our heroes has something terrible to hide. Look for big reveals with this summer-long tale, with possible repercussions that extend beyond.

As if we need any more proof of Gov. McCrory's long-standing ties to Duke Energy, a report released Monday by The National Institute on Money and State Politics, a nonpartisan nonprofit, revealed that between 2000 and 2012 Duke contributed three times as much money to the McCrory campaign than it gave to five sitting governors combined.
McCrory, who worked for Duke Energy for 28 years before his 2008 gubernatorial run, also claimed the lion's share of Duke executives' contributions - $82,000 of a total $94,750 given to four governors. Duke's PAC gave a total of $30,000 to five sitting governors, with McCrory carving out a $16,000 slice.
The corruption case against Patrick Cannon didn't end with his arrest. The U.S. Attorney's Office has subpoenaed Mecklenburg County officials, seeking records relating to Cannon. The mandate comes a month after investigators requested such documents from the city. Clearly no one is safe.
Some people aren't satisfied with simply visiting a museum. Dexter Anderson broke a window at the National Civil Rights Museum, in Memphis, and was found asleep in the Lorraine Hotel's room 308, which is just a few doors down from the room Martin Luther King Jr. stayed in the day he was assassinated. Anderson was charged with vandalism. Security has since increased at the museum.
A VICE journalist remains in the custody of pro-Russian separatist militia members in eastern Ukraine, who also recently detained and released a TIME reporter. The journalists were traveling by car and were stopped at a checkpoint. VICE is in talks with the State Department.
South Sudanese rebels slaughtered hundreds seeking refuge in mosques in the area. The body count is so high, UN officials couldn't give an exact body count, just describing "piles and piles" of bodies. "'A strong stench of decomposing remains filled the air, while vultures and dogs ate off limbs, scalps and abdomen flesh,' said one report."
