Time Warner Cable Arena going completely smoke-free

Posted By on Mon, Mar 9, 2015 at 4:53 PM

Hoping to take a smoke break on the terrace at Time Warner Cable Arena? Better do it soon ... the downtown venue will be completely smoke-free as of March 18. After that, the current outdoor smoking areas will be eliminated and smoking will not be allowed anywhere in the building, grounds or sidewalks.

Smoke-free means no cigarettes, cigars or pipes or electronic cigarettes can be used in the arena. People will also not be allowed to leave an event and re-enter.

Time Warner Cable Arena, a city-owned building, falls under the new smoke-free government grounds regulation, an ordinance that was adopted in October by the Mecklenburg County Commissioners. Looks like you'll have to burn your butts somewhere else.
