Candyland and K.I.S.S

Posted By on Wed, Jul 9, 2008 at 10:47 AM

What are you doing Friday? Might I interest you in a romp through Candyland and a first kiss? As in Consuella’s Candyland and the unofficial Grand Opening of K.I.S.S Lounge...

Growing up I use to play the board game Candyland and fantasize about living in the Candy Cane Forest and Gum Drop Mountains. Who am I kidding, I still do…. Well, thanks to Consuella, Charlotte’s own Princess Lolly, Stir Theatre is being converted into a Candyland for her birthday.

Consuella from Power 98, whom you may also know as “Charlotte’s Sexiest Woman” as per Creative Loafing’s Best Of issue, moved here from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and has since been crowned the QC’s Queen of Grindtime.

She’s kind of a big deal and her party is going to be big…

She’s having a live band, DJ DR, candy girls, cotton candy, a candy bar, and a balloon release at the end of the night. Oh, and did I mention it’s hosted by Mya?

And Consuella is as sweet as candy because she is forgoing presents; she’s simply requesting presence at her birthday party as she’s making it a benefit for the Boys and Girls Club.

STIR Concert Theatre, 3500 Independence Blvd.

Advanced Tickets: $20 & Advanced VIP Tickets: $40

…with proceeds benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Charlotte!

Pre Sale tickets can be purchased at the following locations:, Glamour Puss and Flava Factory

Meanwhile, K.I.S.S Lounge is opening ….well, sorta. The official grand opening party has yet to be announced; but in the interim K.I.S.S is merely hosting the Sunset Club’s parties while its undergoing renovations (both venues operate under the same management).

Despite the fact K.I.S.S. Lounge is technically not yet open, you can still go get kissed this weekend….

This Thursday is Panther player-player Kris Jenkin’s going away party (good riddance)

Friday is the Digital Divas’ “First Kiss” bash, and Saturday they’re having an International Night. K.I.S.S Lounge, 204 Woodlawn Road.
