Coming soon — A theater near you...

Posted By on Tue, Dec 2, 2008 at 5:04 PM

Well, that is, if you live Uptown.

But not only do Uptown residents no longer have to trek it to Phillip’s Place to catch a flick — Charlotteans no longer have to trek it from restaurant to cinema because the EpiCentre is opening both a movie theater and a place to eat, stay, and play… Mez, an upscale restaurant where you can fine wine and dine.

But between the EpiCentre Theater and Mez, we no longer have to sneak the outlawed outside food and beverages into a movie, because you can take your meal and cocktail from Mez into the theater. Now that’s what I call dinner and a movie.

Mez and the EpiCentre Theaters are opening next weekend and I’m giving away VIP passes for the grand opening party on Dec. 12.

All you have to do is e-mail me. That, and keep reading...

This is not your typical dinner and a movie experience. This theater’s entrance isn’t a box office, it’s more so a lobby equip with a concierge.

And unlike most theaters, this one doesn’t have a concession stand per say, it’s more of a snack bar... with emphasis on the word bar. This bar of snacks and such will serve gourmet candies and cocktails, but you can still get buttered popcorn and plain M&Ms to sprinkle on top of it. Trust me, it’s good.

And the EpiCentre Theater will have first class seating. I’m talking plush love seats that recline and come equip with a food tray and drink holder (and by drink I mean any kind of drink).

Before 7 p.m., the theater is equal opportunity in regards to age, but after 7 p.m. it’s strictly 21 and up. You can buy your tickets on-line for $12 and that includes parking and assigned priority pick of seating.

The first five people to e-mail me at brittney.cason@creativeloafing.com will get VIP passes for the grand opening! Ready, set... send, me an e-mail!
