VIDEO: Remembering Eazy-E

Posted By on Fri, Mar 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM

Fifteen years ago today, N.W.A. member and gangsta rap icon, Eazy-E died of AIDS at age 31.

The man who'd pushed America's moral limits with his music and managed to make the establishment a little uneasy during the late '80s and early '90s immediately became a real face on the AIDS awareness movement in the rap community, especially since he passed away just a few weeks after finding out he had the disease.

He, along with his Ruthless Records crew, got big enough to become a local target of the LAPD, even catching the eye of the FBI from the content of their music. (Thank God they know not to take lyrics so seriously nowadays). Anyway, for the homie Eazy-E, I'll share one of my favorite record of his. YO DRE! GIMME A FUNKY ASS BASS LINE! R.I.P.
