10-in-10 CD reviews

Posted By on Fri, Apr 2, 2010 at 10:58 AM

Each Friday, we bring you reviews of 10 recently released CDs done in 10 words each:

Seasick Steve Man from Another Time — 65-year-old offers up 12 scrappy-style blues tunes.

Helloween Unarmed — Best? Don’t even think I’d call them one-hit wonders.

Annuals Sweet Sister — Raleigh band’s five-song EP continues to show their talent.

Scott McKeon Trouble — Great blues sound for 23, vocals sound a bit young.

The Ravenna Colt Slight Spell — Former My Morning Jacket guitarist releases his debut solo album. (At Evening Muse on April 15.)

Making Movies In Deo Speramus — Latin-spiced pop rock has some English lyrics, some Spanish.

Wild Bores We Think Alike — Power-pop album from Nashville based band was just ok.

The Prices The Awesomeness — Singer kinda sounds like Gwen Stefani, lacks the same energy.

Gorillaz Plastic Beach — Numerous guests help to keep band’s sound diverse, increasingly unique.

Disturbed The Sickness 10th Anniversary — B-sides and new artwork added to band’s album reissue.
