Got word for Sony Music earlier today that Charlotte native, S Dub, is Jive Records' newest signee.

In the release, Jive's A&R Manager, Ant Rich, said, “S Dub’s ability to make records that have an innate sense of commercialism without compromising any sense of integrity will no doubt lead to great success on the charts as well as in the streets. We are very excited to have formed this partnership and look forward to the continued success.”

All S Dub had to say about his signing was, “I feel honored and blessed to show my talent to the World and look forward to cementing a foundation for myself. I hope to represent the best of what North Carolina has to offer.”

There's a few umbrellas he's under so I'll try to break it down. There's the big umbrella, Sony Music Entertainment. Under Sony is RCA/Jive. Under RCA/Jive is the Battery Records imprint, which is dedicated to developing young hip-hop acts. S Dub will be on the Battery Records imprint.

For those unfamiliar with S Dub's music, you may remember his song, "Charlotte Forever" alongside local emcees, Revenue, Royal-Tee & King Carter, which got a lot of buzz about a year ago. Here's the video (directed by Charlotte's Aaron Barnes)

Congratulations and continued success to a local product looking to make a national splash.
