Jonathan and Stephanie Hughes' Anniversary/Love Grows Benefit featuring Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray, Boolow, Worship This, 25 Minutes to Go, Southside Punx and Gore Gore Luchadores
The Milestone Club
July 22, 2011
The Deal: Milestone owner Jonathan Hughes and his wife, Stephanie, probably share the most intense love I have ever come into contact with. Just being next to them, you can feel that passion radiating from their connection. Five years ago, these two lovebirds tied the knot and have been going strong ever since. In celebration of their anniversary, The Milestone held a fantastic benefit show with a cap off of the Gore Gore Luchadores wrestling for Love Grows, a Uganda-based charity organization founded by Andy and Michelle Wilson. I was sure the night would be one to remember for some time. However, I didn't realize that it would be so extremely awesome.
Reeve Coobs
The Evening Muse
July 22, 2011
The Deal: Singer/songwriter and vocal powerhouse Reeve Coobs delights a packed house at The Evening Muse.
The Good: Reeve combines the vocal qualities of pop singers like Colbie Caillat and Celine Dion and infuses that sweet-but-soulful energy into folk rock songs that amalgamate the styles of artists like John Mayer and Edwin McCain. The resulting tunes display a songwriting prowess and impeccable vocal control unmatched by any unsigned singer/songwriter Ive ever seen.
Singer Amy Winehouse, 27, was found dead in her apartment in London today, numerous news outlets are reporting. The singer had various troubles with rehab and substance abuse over the years and recently had a tumultuous performance in Europe after which her remaining concert dates were canceled.
It's a sad story for a singer who now joins the "27 Club" with musicians such as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain as talented musicians and artists who died at age 27.
While she should be known for this
She may be more known for this:
So, almost exactly one year ago to the day, I received some Wicked ear buds and reviewed them. They've been great solid quality music and comfortable to wear.
I must now report an update and say the ear buds have died. I guess countless times of unplugging them from my computer has killed them. The wire has frayed and now they no longer transmit sound...
R.I.P. ear buds. You served me well, but only for a year.
