The Congress Gathering handfuls from American musical forms — folk, rock, country, blues — the Congress harnesses rock that’s thoughtfully written, albeit still in the developmental phase. The Denver, as in the Rocky Mountains, combo is an energetic young bunch, and with continued recording and touring, there’s no reason they can’t reach the upper rungs of the roots-rock circuit. $10.
