Music Menu Other Lives bring Okie-style, spacey soundscapes tonight (10/5/11)

Other Lives Mining elements of space rock, these Okies compose soundscapes with classical instrumentation, a sound that floats about merrily and settles into a sort of meditative realm. The combo creates cinematic scores that take cues from Brit rockers who use orchestral touches as intros or transitions. The Other Lives take those classical flourishes and expand them into a full sound. Opening for Mates of State. $15-$18. Visulite Theatre. www.visulite.com. (Samir Shukla)
