Fridays at the Factory, other concert announcements

Posted By on Mon, Apr 13, 2015 at 11:23 AM

We've been a bit critical of the Fridays at the Factory lineups in the past as they've leaned toward a rotating cast of '90s one-hit wonders and hesitated from pushing the envelope... so we have to give credit to those in charge for stepping up their game for this year's edition.

From South Carolina folk duo Shovels & Rope to sacred steel jammers Robert Randolph and the Family Band to Southern rockers North Mississippi Allstars, Friday Live at the Factory is ready to leave their mark on the summer concert season. The schedule is:

May 8 - Robert Randolph and the Family Band with Chris Cook and the Heartless Road Band
May 15 - Who's Band, The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band
May 22 - Cracker with Temperance League
May 29 - Misterwives
June 5 - Shovels and Rope with Flatland Tourists
June 12 - North Mississippi Allstars with The Josh Daniel/Mark Schimick Project
June 19 - Cowboy Mouth with Of Good Nature
June 26 - Surfer Blood with The Black Cadillacs

Advance tickets are $8 and a season pass is $50.

Other recently announced concerts include:

* Shinedown with Nothing More at Ovens Auditorium (?) on July 29. Tickets on sale Friday, April 17.

* Counting Crows with Citizen Cope and Hollis Brown at the Uptown Amphitheatre on Aug. 10. Tickets on sale Friday, April 17.

* Sublime with Rome (more like Sublime's bassist with some other guys...) with Rebelution, Pepper and Mickey Avalon at the Uptown Amphitheatre on Aug. 11. Tickets on sale Monday, April 20.
