Treasure Fest Benefit w/ Harvard, Robbers, Appalucia, Great Architect
The Milestone
April 1, 2011
The Deal: A couple of months ago, I got a friend request on Facebook from someone who called themself Treasure Fest. To be honest, I was a bit off-put, but after checking out their page and realizing they were an upcoming multi-venue music festival in Plaza-Midwood, I figured that it wouldn't hurt anything if I added them. Before I knew it, there were constant updates from them announcing band after band, local and regional, all of which were acts I would be stoked to see: Mose Giganticus, Hawks, Emotron, Andy the Doorbum, Yardwork the list kept getting bigger and better and I kept getting more and more stoked that such an overwhelmingly amazing event was going to happen right in the heart of Plaza-Midwood in the beautiful month of May. As a means to help fundraise the festival, the Milestone volunteered their venue and Friday, April 1 they held a Treasure Fest benefit show that included Great Architect, Appalucia, Robbers and Harvard. It seemed like an obvious win-win situation great music to support the gathering of great music.

Winter Luau w/ David Childers, The Lesser Pauls, Dan Sartain and Aqualads
The Milestone
Feb. 25, 2011
The Deal: There are four things in this world I am a sucker for: good music, theme parties, hybrids and food. It's not often that I get the opportunity to enjoy all at once. Thus, when I found out the Milestone was throwing a Winter Luau (hybrid theme party) that included free BBQ from delectable boston butts roasted for eight hours (food) with David Childers, The Lesser Pauls, Dan Sartain and Aqualads playing (good music) I could not refuse the adventure ahead.
The Good: For one, the food was delicious and getting lei'd by Doob, the doorman, got me in the spirit of the Hawaiian even more so than I already was, considering I took hybrid to heart and was dressed in a Hawaiian print dress with a winter sweater on top and a scarf. However, the music was really where it was at this night.

Feb. 19, 2011
The Deal: Not too long ago, some friends of mine began jamming out together and something beautiful was born. I kept hearing so much about their new band, Pig Mountain, that I couldn't help but find out more for myself. Rumored to be cannibals on their Facebook page, I was immediately intrigued. So, when I found out that they were playing at Tremont with Manchovy, ASG and Weedeater on Tremont employee Matthew Brother's birthday, I knew I had an awesome night of sludgy goodness and fantastic celebration ahead of me.

The Deal: One night, long ago, I stumbled upon Hellblinki at Snug Harbor when they followed a Sonic Death Rabbit set and had my world rocked. Ever since then, I have been in love with them and every time they come into town I am determined to make it out to their show. That's why, when they came through with Kenni Falls and The Lost Souls Traveling Show, I was giddier than Augustus Gloop surrounded by chocolate.
