Now that a bunch of bananas - the Chiquita Banana logo - adorns a Center City high rise, Charlotte's chefs need to get creative with bananas. After all, when Chiquita Bananas, then United Fruit, was based in New Orleans, a chef there created Bananas Foster. But for now, the best banana dishes are the Q.C.'s ubiquitous banana puddings, and the best of these is found at Savor Café. If the homemade vanilla wafers do not convince you, the perfectly toasted meringue crust will.
