Bizarre crime from Charlotte police files (March 5)

Easily spotted

Better Than Ants In The Pants: A loss prevention officer at a University-area Kohls detained a man who had picked up a pair of pink Beats headphones and stuck them down the front of his pants. Police were called after the suspect tried to leave the business without paying for them. Is someone going to clean them before restocking on the shelf?

What Took You So Long?: An east Charlotte couple called police to complain about phone calls and texts they have been receiving. The suspect has been trying to harass and annoy them ... for two years! We'd love to know what the straw was that broke the camel's back after all this time.

Zebra-Mobile: A 34-year-old south Charlotte man called police to report his vehicle being stolen. The car was left unlocked and the owner was not sure what direction the thief headed. Be on the lookout for a white 2002 Toyota Corolla, with a black hood. Shouldn't be difficult to spot.

Lost Her Best Friend: Police were called by a 27-year-old University-area woman who reported the theft of a wedding ring. The ring was kept in a decorative dish on her dresser and may have been stolen by a guest or family member. The victim was hoping that the ring was simply misplaced, but it has not turned up. She noted that it is a white gold and diamond halo ring totalling 1 carat in weight. Oh, and she went to Jared.

No Pushing, No Shoving: A 55-year-old north Charlotte woman called police after being assaulted one recent Sunday night. She told police she was pushed to the ground and broke a fingernail.

Too Slow: Police responded to a northeast-area Food Lion after a suspect was witnessed taking a $1.40 bottle of Nesquick chocolate milk.

Blotter items are chosen from the files of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
