What better way to start your weekend than with one of the beauty industry's finest? Charlotte's own Jeffre Scott Apothecary, the only beauty boutique of its kind, will host Susan Posnick for a fabulous beauty event on Friday, March 4.
I'm always looking for ways to keep my skin looking fresh and healthy and I've heard that Susan's line of beauty products are not only essential, they're also practical. In a time when a woman's makeup bag is spilling over with a slue of products, mirrors, brushes and other necessities, it's nice to know that someone has not only considered quality but also convenience. For example, Posnick's Colorflo mineral power is great because the brush and the product are one and the same! Most of her products are multi-use and fit into a 6x9 pouch ... now there's a lady who knows how to secure AND maximize her product's space in any woman's clutch!
If you're like me and want to learn lots of fabulous new beauty secrets, this event is the place to be! Wondering what makes her an industry expert? Posnick has not only had a ton of celebrity clients like Diane Lane, she's also been featured on ABC News and since starting her own line in 2002, her products have appeared in national publications such as Essence and In Style Magazine just to name a few. Yeah .. .I'm thinking she definitely knows her stuff. Don't miss your opportunity to learn from one of the best ... plus I'm sure there will be lots of goodies and freebees at this kick off event for Jeffre Scott's month-long celebration of Spring beauty!
The fun begins at 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffre Scott Apothecary, located at 607 Providence Road. 704-339-0010

For as many wardrobe changes that Anne Hathaway took part in, she looked looked flawless in all of them. But some of the ladies on the red carpet couldn't even pull off even one look apparently they need to hire a stylist to the status of Rachel Zoe. Let's look at the ladies who could have done better.
Melissa Leo in Marc Bouwer
You would have thought that this two-time nominee (now winner) would dress like a nominee. This gold and lace dress makes me think of a cheap plastic table cover. I think if you look close enough, you will see the reflection of the photographers looking away at this horrible piece of work.
Last night was the Superbowl of Hollywood the Oscars. I have to admit, though, that I was a little bored ... not only with the red carpet but the show itself. I was really looking forward to Anne Hathaway and James Franco hosting and found myself feeling sorry for them both. It was kind of an embarrassing display for these award-winning actors. The Academy should hire Billy Crystal or someone to his liking.
Enough about the award show, though let's talk fashion! As I mentioned, I wasn't wowed by the red carpet. No one woman stood out from the rest. But here are a few looks that did manage to catch my eye.
Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein
Bold colors were a big hit on the carpet, along with the minimalistic look. This red scoop dress is form-fitting and has an understated sexiness about it. Jennifer Lawrence really looks stunning.
