State budget director Art Pope announced late Thursday that the state would continue funding the federal nutrition program for low-income women and children known as WIC.

Remember when North Carolina rejected expanding Medicaid because of what Gov. Pat McCrory called a "broken" system"? New evidence suggests members of his administration tampered with reports to fuel the governor's argument.

On day 11 of the government shutdown signs emerge that an end is near.
