Pearl Jam has announced that they will remaster the band's debut album, Ten, and release four different versions in March of next year.
Meanwhile, Kiss has announced that they will hit the studio for its first new album in 10 years.
The '70s band has made an extended living off of its classic songs, usually ignorning anything more recent during its live show. So, it comes as a surprise that the band would go back into the studio after the only two original members still in the band - Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley - have both said they have no desire to record a new album.
It'll be interesting to see what they come up with...
At the All Arts Market at Neighborhood Theatre tonight, music editor Jeff Hahne will be there displaying/selling some photos that he's taken over the years music, wildlife, nature and more.
Stop by his table and say hi, and pick up the latest Homebrew CD, if you haven't yet gotten your hands on one. They're free and feature Simplified, The Stellas, Paleface, Tropic Culture, Lindy Dobbins, The Orsons, Contagious Blues Band, Nicolette Emanuelle, Eyes of the Elders, The Lights Fluorescent, Yardwork and Sugar Glyder.
Up-and-coming singer Laura Izibor probably isn't on your radar, but she's an artist that should not be overlooked. Some folks have compared her to talents like Alicia Keys and Chrisette Michelle, but the Irish-born Izibor sports an organic, piano-driven sound that's all her own. Come check her out for yourself when she pays a visit to Apostrophe Lounge tonight. Free. 6 p.m. Apostrophe Lounge, 1440 S. Tryon. 704-371-7079.
In the meantime, take a gander at her new music video right here:
I used to think that having to consistently shave my legs was annoying... but at least we women dont have to shave our faces. Thus, we need not complain. Im sorry boys that sucks for you.
But a group of guys, led by Jared Yerg and Scott Doerr, stopped shaving all together and grew beards not just because but for the purpose of raising money for the United Family Services Shelter for Battered Women in Charlotte.
The men jeopardized having an itchy face and getting potato chips stuck in their facial hair for the sake of helping women... proof that although endangered, chivalry is not yet extinct.
Over two months of manscaping and fundraising, Beards BeCAUSE raised over $33,000.
And they went out with a bang (as in Bang Bang Salon shaving beards) at their Grand Finale party at Amos' SouthEnd.
