For fans of the British alternative rock group Coldplay it is a time to rejoice (for the rest of you: a time to start sulking), as front man Chris Martin, who recently implied the band might be breaking up at the end of 2009, now says they won't be splitting after all. Originally Martin stated, "I'm 31 now and I don't think bands should keep going past 33," but now he's saying the statement had more to do with time management and the band's tight deadlines for musical projects. He just said the following according to Rolling Stone magazine: "I don't think we'll ever split up, but we have to do a lot before we're 33." Read more here.
On another note, vocalist Liam Gallagher of Oasis just stated "I don't give a shit about Coldplay." Read about it here.
Ever wanted to see some funk mixed with jazz, a splash of rock added in set up in some kind of odd jam-band-type setting? That's one way to look at Dead End Parking, and if you ever wanted to see the Charlotte band live - tonight's your last chance!
The band will offer up two full sets tonight starting at 9 p.m. at The Double Door Inn. There are also rumors of some special guests who might drop by.
Charlotte Live Music Society members get in free otherwise, it's $7 at the door.
From a message posted at the band's MySpace page: "It's been one hell of a run guys and we can't tell you how much we've appreciated the love and support CLMS, The Double Door Inn, The Neighborhood Theatre, bands we've played with, and our fans have shown us. We want our last scheduled event to be right where it all started, with the people who have always been there for us. Due to personal endevours, we regret that we will no longer be scheduling dates. We still love playing together and playing for you...... our fans. We aren't saying we'll never get together for the occasional gig, but after December 3rd we'll no longer be a working/touring act."

Well, that is, if you live Uptown.
But not only do Uptown residents no longer have to trek it to Phillips Place to catch a flick Charlotteans no longer have to trek it from restaurant to cinema because the EpiCentre is opening both a movie theater and a place to eat, stay, and play Mez, an upscale restaurant where you can fine wine and dine.
But between the EpiCentre Theater and Mez, we no longer have to sneak the outlawed outside food and beverages into a movie, because you can take your meal and cocktail from Mez into the theater. Now thats what I call dinner and a movie.
Mez and the EpiCentre Theaters are opening next weekend and Im giving away VIP passes for the grand opening party on Dec. 12.
All you have to do is e-mail me. That, and keep reading...

A story at Billboard.com states that rockers Creed are planning a reunion tour in 2009. The band last performed in 2004 before singer Scott Stapp went on to a solo career that fizzled out quickly and the other guys formed Alter Bridge that had limited success.
I guess they got tired of singing the song of a career that goes nowhere and will get back together. The band sold 26.1 million albums though I'd debate that most of their songs sounded the same.
The article says that sources close to the situation say there are significant dollars on the table. The question is do any of their former fans still care? To me, they were the second coming of Winger it may have sounded good at the time, but then they became the butt of endless jokes.
