Los Lonely Boys shredding sixties-style tunes tonight (9/17/11)

Posted By on Mon, Sep 12, 2011 at 12:59 PM

Los Lonely Boys Sixties throwbacks hailing from Texas, the Garza brothers — guitarist Henry, bassist JoJo and drummer Ringo — released their fourth full-length earlier this year, the stylistic mish-mash Rockpango. The music still trends AOR — the LP is like a classic rock radio sampler of late ’60s/early ’70s, with a slight Tex-Mex tinge — and lyrics aren’t the brothers’ strong suit, but there’s no denying the Garza chops (Henry is a shredder in the Santana/Hendrix mode) or the excitement their fans seem to derive from the live gigs. With The Kicks. $22-$25. Neighborhood Theatre. www.neighborhoodtheatre.com. (John Schacht)
