Blogaroo from Bonnaroo '09: Wrap-up Part 2

Sunday started out with a quick interview with the bluegrass/Americana trio The Lovell Sisters. Though they're young, the band has been together for five years and built a solid foundation at Merlefest. They performed at This Tent to open the day there.

A.A. Bonday had a folk set in The Other Tent while Cage the Elephant tore up That Tent in what amounted in the first of a number of metal shows there. (The Dillinger Escape Plan, High On Fire, Shadows Fall and Coheed and Cambria played later.)

Blogaroo from Bonnaroo '09: Weekend wrap-up Part 1

Posted By on Mon, Jun 15, 2009 at 3:39 PM

I gave a quick rundown of Saturday, but here are a few more details - and then I'll get into Sunday in Part 2.

Buffett looked like a late addition, but at a press conference shortly after his performance, he said that he knew for about six months that he was likely to perform at Bonnaroo. It may have been billed as a Ilo and the Coral Reefer Allstars show, but it was basically a Buffett show - in the daytime.

Blogaroo from Bonnaroo '09: Saturday

Posted By on Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 11:50 AM

OK, so, here's the situation... The Internet service here is complete crap. I'm working on another night of four hours of sleep and my frustration level is quickly growing.

I'll give a brief rundown of Saturday, but will update with a full report on Monday of the weekend's events, with photos.

I hope you understand, but if I don't - my computer will be thrown through a window or off the top of the nearest high-rise.

The day got started with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Allstars, who kicked off their set with "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw."

Blogaroo from Bonnaroo ’09 - Friday

Posted By on Sat, Jun 13, 2009 at 12:09 PM

(Once again, Internet service in the farmlands of Tennessee is horrible... Some photos uploaded, more to come. Please check back.)

What started out as an overcast day gave way to the sun in a beautiful rain-free Friday at Bonnaroo.

My day began with Tift Merritt – who is shorter than I imagined, but just as sweet as could be. Gomez rocked the Which Stage to kick of the weekend of large stage peformances.

Tent, check. Water, check. Camera, check.

It's almost time for Bonnaroo! I'll be sending out Twitter messages and posting daily blogs right here from the festival site in Manchester, Tenn. this weekend. While Tweets will start on Thursday, the blogs will kick off Friday morning.

Topless Britney Spears photos hit Internet

Posted By on Mon, Jun 8, 2009 at 10:54 AM

Some topless photos of Britney Spears have hit the Internet - they were apparently taken from a photoshoot in 2007.

And she's not exactly topless... she has fake tattoos covering her nipples.

Check out the photos here.

Adam Lambert may be gay — who cares?

Posted By on Wed, Jun 3, 2009 at 10:41 AM

Seriously? A plane disappeared in the middle of the ocean, President Obama is in the Middle East, GM filed for bankruptcy, but people are more concerned about whether Jon or Kate is cheating, that Octo-mom got a TV deal, that those morons Spencer and Heidi have left a reality show and if Adam Lambert is holding hands with his boyfriend in this photo:

The latest rumor is that he'll be on the cover of Rolling Stone next issue to discuss his sexuality.

To this, I say, "Who gives a shit?" He's gay, he's not gay — Who cares? Maybe we should instead focus on the fact that he screams like a banshee and his theatrical personality belongs on Broadway regardless of his sexual preference?

Honestly, though. There are more important things going on in life... let's move on already.
