The soul/hip-hop DJ duo known as The Fresh Catz seemingly came out of nowhere to become one of the dopest wax-spinning crews in Charlotte. Although they don’t have a regular residency at a local nightclub yet, the pair has played a handful of near-legendary sets at Loft 1523. The secret of The Fresh Catz’s success lies in their ability to unpredictably mix seldom-heard soul tracks with Brazilian music, Afrobeat, hip-hop and off the wall shit like TV theme songs. You never know what you’re going to get from this team — and that’s a good thing.
