Um. Gross.
A man who tried to cool out his hyper cat by stuffing her into a boxlike homemade bong faces cruelty charges and catcalls from animal lovers.
Lancaster County sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic disturbance call Sunday alleged they saw 20-year-old Acea Schomaker smoking marijuana through a piece of garden hose attached to a duct-taped, plastic glass box in which the cat had been stuffed.

Seriously, Mr. Steele, groveling to a know-it-all, steam-venting, radio jockey is not only unnecessary but pitiful. What you need to do is tell him, "You do your job, and I'll do mine. Get off the stage."
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says he has reached out to Rush Limbaugh to tell him he meant no offense when he referred to the popular conservative radio host as an entertainer whose show can be incendiary. My intent was not to go after Rush I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh, Steele said in a telephone interview. I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.
The dust-up comes at a time when top Democrats are trying to make Limbaugh the face of the Republican Party, in part by using ads funded by labor. Americans United for Change sent a fund-raising e-mail Monday that begins: The Republican Party has turned into the Rush Limbaugh Party.

Fans of the old "The PTL Club" shows may soon have a reason to praise the Lord. An Atlanta investment banker plans to auction off more than 15,000 hours of videotapes of the Christian talk shows in March.Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker hosted the show from 1974 to 1987. Most aired from their empire that included a hotel, campground and theme park in Fort Mill, S.C., just south of Charlotte. Short-sighted, as usual, the people trying to turn the need-to-green into cash can't seem to grasp the big picture.
Hm. Where are all the gadgets at the Greener Gadgets conference, a one-day acronym festival -- EPEAT, ROHS, LCA, anyone? -- covering topics from e-waste recycling to the economic benefits of going green. I was expecting to see cell phones crafted of discarded water bottles or a smog-powered BlackBerry. At least they've got the photovoltaic backpacks.Mostly, the exhibitors' hall and panels include an odd amalgam of entrepreneurs and industry analysts, makers and regulators, who are far less focused on the gadget itself than on where it comes from and where it goes on its cradle-to-cradle journey through the world. "We need to focus on the system, and not just on the gadget," said Intel's Director of Environment and Energy Policy Stephen Harper.
They're just as focused on where the gadget goes to die, an integral part of said system. As keynote speaker Saul Griffith, co-founder of Squid Labs and Makani Power, told us, "There's no 'away' to throw something anymore -- we know where everything goes."

The wet, cold roads made conditions too dangerous for driving, but spending the night in a tin can, apparently, is a reasonable thing to do.
Hundreds of motorists were forced to wait in their vehicles overnight. Cleveland County authorities opened a shelter early this morning, taking about two dozen people from their cars and trucks. Many motorists ran out of gas while stopped on the freeway.

It seems as if pop's reigning prince and princess are back together. After the beat down heard and seen 'round the world, Chris Brown and Rihanna have been spending time together at Diddy's place on Star Island. How noble? Yes, they are young and young people make mistakes, but this relationship is clearly toxic. Both of them are young and can easily move on with other people, which makes this union all the more troubling. Where are the parents in this equation? Clearly Diddy is not someone who should be advising young people about much of anything. Apparently Rihanna did not read my open-letter to her. Hopefully, she'll wake up and realize that not only does she deserve better, but she can do better. Let's pray that Chris Brown gets the help that he needs to prevent another incident like this from happening again.
