Hellbound Glory at The Evening Muse tonight (Sept. 8)

Posted By on Wed, Sep 8, 2010 at 11:02 AM

Hellbound Glory — Self-described as Scumbag Country, the band's singer/rhythm guitarist Leroy Virgil (hell if that's not a country crooner name) plucks and howls in and out of dives and gin joints. Playing dry, dusty country music, the Reno-based outfit tells drinking stories — lots of them, while the guitars twang and sashay into true blue country haunts. All you need is a couple of cowpoke hats dancing face to face. With Cattletruck. $6, The Evening Muse, www.theeveningmuse.com

After announcing he was in the zone and a new mixtape was on the way via Twitter, N.C. rapper, J.Cole, dropped this bomb on social media over Kanye West's beat for "Devil In A New Dress." No further explanation needed, this is just that good.

Harptallica at The Milestone tonight (Sept.6)

Posted By on Mon, Sep 6, 2010 at 8:56 AM

HARPTALLICA Two ladies playing the harp may not sound like something you'd run out to see on a Monday night, but when you find out they'll be playing Metallica cover songs, it becomes a whole lot more intriguing. They're not going to stick to just the softer songs, either — they tackle it all and bring a completely new vibe to the music. With The All-Girl Boys Choir and KPSoloman5000. $8-$10, The Milestone, www.themilestoneclub.com
