Music Menu Chalkies crank out garage punk rock 'n' roll tonight (8/20/11)

Chalkies Don’t let this Charlotte band’s 2011 date of birth fool you — these guys are pros. Many know Mark Lynch from various projects, including Temperance League, but this time he’s sans bass and on lead vocals for a group that’s letting things come together organically and playing off of each other. The bands is in no rush to hit the studio, so your best bet right now is to catch them live. Lamb Handler headlines, AM/FM’s are also on the bill. $5. Snug Harbor. www.snugrock.com.
