Now fronting the Loudermilks after years at the helm of Lou Ford, it seems strange to single out Alan from his kid brother Chad, considering the crucial songwriting and harmonizing role both play. So call this one a nod to simply getting there first. Alan's homespun drawl is no alt-country put-on, but a voice cured in the hurt and redemption that makes the brothers' songs so true-to-life to begin with - were the music world fair, we'd be feting both alongside the very best country rockers.
