Joie Lassiter Gallery was all about challenging work, whether it was by a MacArthur Fellow, a painter from down the street or a sculptor who covered the floor in wood shavings. Lassiter championed the area's contemporary artists and exhibited them alongside the blue-chip guys. We wish her the best of luck on whatever coast or continent she next calls home.
