If you're pro-Foxx, you're not supposed to tell the truth and say:
1. Whether the hiring process met the letter of the law or not, the way these women were hired was utterly unethical, as well as brazenly preferential toward public officials' kin.
2. The local African-American "Good Ole Boy" government/business network is as full of itself as the longtime white network.
3. County Manager Harry Jones' main interest is always the proper covering of his own ass.
If you're anti-Foxx, you're not supposed to tell the truth and say:
1. The women in question are eminently qualified for their positions.
2. Race, as in "white and black" and "mayor's race," played a big role in how these hiring irregularities were "discovered" and reported.
3. I don't really care about DSS at all, but I enjoy griping about Democrats, especially black ones.

You're right. What the children of Charlotte need are fewer teachers, with a starting pay just over $33.000, and 80 percent more administrators, like you, who make more than $100,000 annually. And, don't you bother taking a pay-cut, either. The rank and file realize how difficult it must be to live on a quarter million dollars per year. Thanks for thinking of our collective future, sir!
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent Peter Gorman says teachers calling for administrative layoffs have their facts wrong. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Association of Educators yesterday organized a protest of teacher layoffs and called for "pruning the top" instead. Gorman is the county's best paid local-government employee. He makes $260,000 a year -- $2,500 less than Del Burns gets for running the slightly larger Wake County Schools. But Gorman's extras -- $35,000 for retirement and a performance bonus up to $26,000 -- push his total package past Burns'.
Thanks for not raising your rates, Panthers! You're right, the economy does suck.
We know you're used to sell-out games, but since almost 10 percent of us don't have a job, don't get too excited if we decide to watch you at our local tavern instead of at your house next season.

No, really, why didn't their love last?

Sarah Palin, have broken off their engagement, he said Wednesday, about 2 1/2 months after the couple had a baby.Johnston, 19, told the AP that he and 18-year-old Bristol Palin mutually decided "a while ago" to end their relationship.
